My teaching experience includes undergraduate and graduate courses in rhetoric and writing studies, including seminars on Writing Program Administration, Archival Methods, Digital Literacies, and Composition Theory. I have also taught undergraduate courses on creative writing, film studies, and literature and culture. My most recent courses taught at Georgia Tech were Senior Seminar in Film Studies (LMC 4500), focused on Women and Film, 1939-1980 and LMC 3252: Studies in Film and Television, focused on the American Horror Film.
In Fall 2025, I will be teaching a special topics course in Communication (LMC 3813) centered on the CNN Academy Atlanta experience in October 2025. This course builds on the School of LMC’s ongoing educational partnership with CNN, including the CNN Abu Dhabi Academy experience in December 2024.
Below are three samples of my students’ projects from the recent film courses. The first is a podcast project (simulated radio broadcast) by Troy Espiritu from the LMC 4500 class in Spring 2024, shared with his permission. The next two videos are final video projects by Jennifer Light and Brooke Boucher, and Amanda Cowan, Ashna Kasireddy, and Zoe Wiesner, from the LMC 3252 class in Fall 2024, also shared with their permission. Each project asked the student to immerse themselves in a particular year or era in film history to create a multimodal project from that historical point of view.
